July 4, 2009 by Erin Balser

Nicole Richie was the ultimate hippie mom when she and Harlow went to Joan’s on Third in early June.

Here’s how you can get her look for less!

Nicole Richie Joan's on Third

Distressed jeans are all the rage these days! Between that, florals, jean jackets and Doc Martens, I believe the 90s are really back! You can channel Nicole with the BDG Acid Wash Cigarette Jean from Urban Outfitters (left top, $58.00), rips not included. Add a basic black tank from Forever 21 (middle top, $3.50) and an oversized t-shirt from Urban Outfitters (right bottom, $19.99).

Nicole is wearing Jeffrey Campbell Cutout Booties, which you can get online at Urban Outfitters for $158.00. If you want a cheaper option, there’s a pair of Vida Cutout Oxfords for $78.00 (right top), also from UO.

Add a great scarf(middle bottom, $5.50) and sunglasses (left bottom, $5.80) from Forever 21 and a fringe bag from Aldo (middle middle, $23.98) to complete the look.

Look for Less: Nicole Richie at House of Harlow Fashion Show

July 3, 2009 by Erin Balser

I loved the look Nicole Richie wore to the House of Harlow fashion show at the beginning of June. It was casual and goddess-like at the same time!

Nicole Richie

Here’s how to get the look for less!
Nicole Richie Look for Less

Start with your basic leggings and tank, like these leggings (right top, $4.80) and tank (middle bottom, $3.50) from Forever 21.

Add a great embellished top, like this Splendid Vintage Open Mocha Top from Revolve Clothing (left top, $62.00) and strappy heels like this Guess “Nolana” pair from Dillards (left bottom, $41.58).

The rest of the look is all about the jewelry. Nicole is wearing pieces from the House of Harlow collection. The cocktail ring (Bloomingdale’s, $45.00), feather necklace (ShopBop, $65.00) and headband (Kitson, $430) are all available to order online. However, there are a few cheaper alternatives which I thought I’d highlight!

Don your head with a Sequin Stretch Headband from Free People (right bottom, $14.00), your finger with the Maureen Flower Ring from Forever 21 (left middle, $4.80), an your neck with the Triple Crescent Necklace from Forever 21 (middle top, $7.80) for a look Nicole would approve of!

Look for Less: Nicole Richie at Acorn

June 30, 2009 by Erin Balser

Nicole Richie was every bit the bohemian mom as she visited a toy store in Santa Monica with Harlow last weekend. I loved her laid back colorful look.

I love Nicole’s acid washed jeans. You can get the same look with the BDG Acid Wash Ankle Cigarette Jeans from Urban Outfitters (middle bottom, $64.00). Add a simple tank, like the “Y” Back Slub Tank from Forever 21 (left top, $8.80) and an oversized cardigan. Nicole is wearing a great black and white shawl cardigan, but you can get a similar look with the Kimchi Blue Ditsy Floral Cardigan Sweater from Urban Outfitters (right top, $39.99). Add some flip flops like this glittery pair from Charlotte Russe (right bottom, $6.99), a pair of aviators from Forever 21 (middle top, $5.80), and a bright patchwork bag like this handmade tote from fabrichandbags at Etsy (right bottom, $24.99) and you’re good to go! All you need is an adorable 18-month old to carry on your hip!

Sneak Peek at Nicole Richie’s Maternity Line

June 30, 2009 by Erin Balser

iphotos196806-nicole-richie.jpgNicole Richie designed a capsule maternity line for Pea in a Pod and treated us to a sneak peek on her website. You can see the photos here. They aren’t so much about the collection as they are about Nicole working on it, but it’s still nice to see something from all the design work she’s been up to lately!

Nicole’s post about the collection was very brief. She writes:

Pea in the Pod and I joined to create a capsule collection of maternity wear that will be available in stores this summer. Last weekend I shot some images for the campaign with one of my favorite photographers, James White.

I’m really excited for you all to see the new collection.

I’m excited to see it too, Nicole!

The line is expected to hit stores this fall.

Nicole Richie Talks House of Harlow Expansion

June 29, 2009 by Arieanna

iphotos196806-nicole-richie.jpgNicole Richie is gearing up to expand her very successful House of Harlow 1960 line of accessories to include clothes and shoes. Nicole Richie herself confirmed the expansion into shoes in April, more information about the expanding line has been coming out.

Nicole recently shared with Singer22 that her new collection will be a “totally different line”.

“Doing a clothing line is really a full time job. I wanted to do what was closest to my heart and where my head was at was jewelry and accessories. I wear a ton of jewelry and artistically that was where I was feeling like I had a really clear idea of the designs that I wanted to do. That’s just where we started. Then I met up with Pascal and he is such a genius! It just felt like the perfect time and the perfect fit.”

Nicole shares that her initial accessories line was inspired by her own personal vintage collection, a lot of which she’d picked up while traveling: much was inspired by India and Africa. Nicole shares that she’s still in the middle of the design process for the shoe and clothing collection, aiming to pick the right fabrics.

As for accessories, we can expect something different from Nicole!

The second collection of House of Harlow will be out next year as well. I’m in the design process for that also. It’s a completely different direction and a completely different inspiration. It is focusing more on old English, equestrian, and more sophisticated looks. It is going to be a totally different line and I’m really excited about it!

The line is expected to be ready for Spring 2010.

Nicole Richie at House of Harlow Fashion Show

June 4, 2009 by Erin Balser

Nicole Richie looked gorgeous at the House of Harlow and Clandestine Industries combined fashion show last night at Boulevard 3 in Hollywood. Nicole’s date for the evening was Pete Wentz, who is responsible for Clandestine Industries, but Joel Madden and Ashlee Simpson joined the two after the show for some double date fun.
Nicole Richie

Nicole was really excited about the event, and twittered about it all evening. She posted several behind the scenes pictures of her friends like Pete Wentz, Joel Madden and Katie Gilbert, Ashlee Simpson and Katherine Power.

She had a lot of fun teasing Joel about her date of choice last night, twittering “@JoelMadden well @petewentz is very charming, sweet, handsom… Now that I think about it honey, maybe its best you stay home.” and “What a great guy… Now if only @joelmadden was the same way.”

I love Nicole’s look. She dresses up leggings and a black tank with a grey cardigan with a statement necklace and headband from the House of Harlow collection.

Nicole Richie Tapes Live with Regis and Kelly

May 6, 2009 by Erin Balser

Nicole Richie made an appearance on Live with Regis & Kelly yesterday. They’ve been filming in Miami by the pool of the Fontainebleau Resort. Must be nice! Nicole stopped by to discuss her jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, and her current pregnancy!

Nicole looked great in a floating maxidress by Etro and loads of jewelry from her own collection. The dress almost hides her baby bump!

She was excited to go own the show. Just minutes before, she twittered “Going on Regis & Kelly in 5 mins. I’m in a cabana waiting by the pool. This is the life!!” and posted this cute photo. Hopefully there will be a video online soon, I want to see it!

Nicole Richie Blogs About Canada Trip

April 24, 2009 by Erin Balser

Nicole Richie updated her blog today, writing about her whirlwind trip to Canada. Her first stop was Toronto, where she did a public appearance and signing at the Holt Renfrew store downtown. The launch wa sa great success, as hundreds of people came out to see House of Harlow 1960 and to get Nicole’s autograph, which you could do if you bought a piece from the line.

Nicole’s next stop on her tour was Montreal, where she stopped by Majestic Mills to start work on her shoe and clothing line. This is a very exciting venture for Nicole and I’m so eager to see what she comes up with. The new line will feature regular clothes, maternity clothes, shoes and accessories. The line is not named yet. Any guesses as to what the line will be named? I’m sure it will somehow relate to the new baby’s name. Any guesses as to what that is going to be?

Nicole also wrote about how much she enjoyed Montreal and how much she missed her family while she was away. Maybe next time she can take the fashionist-in-training, Harlow, with her!

Nicole also posted lots of personal photos from her trip on her blog. Be sure to read what she had to say and check out the photos here!
