House of Harlow 1960 Selling Well
November 2, 2008 by Erin Balser
Nicole Richie’s new costume jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960 isn’t even on stores shelves yet, and it’s already selling really well.
“The line is selling incredibly well - well beyond our high expectations,” Dean Khalil, vice president of Kitson where the line is being pre-sold online, told the NY Daily News.
The line won’t ship until the beginning of December and it should be on store shelves around that time. You can check the line out for yourself here. Prices range from $12.00-$125.00.
Nicole Richie is a Hot Mom
November 2, 2008 by Erin Balser
Fox News named their hottest celebrity moms and Nicole Richie came in on the list at #9. Fox News cites how motherhood changed Nicole’s body for the better as a big reason why she made the annual list.
Rounding out the top ten were Kelly Ripa, Halle Berry, Faith Hill, Jessica Alba, Demi Moore, Cindy Crawford, Heidi Klum and Isla Fisher. Coming in behind Nicole were Gwen Stefani and Angelina Jolie.
I really think the numbers on this list are irrelevant and are not a ranking order. How else do you explain Kelly Ripa defeating Angelina Jolie? Kelly is gorgeous and a fantastic mom, but Angelina is routinely considered to be one of the most beautiful women in the world, with or without kids.
That being said, Fox News is right about Nicole–she’s looked amazing ever since she gave birth in January.
First Look at Nicole Richie’s Jewelry Line
October 8, 2008 by Erin Balser
The video below is our first look at Nicole Richie’s new jewelry line House of Harlow 1960. The costume line uses lots of unique details, like feathers, leather, silk, rivets and more. The line was designed with Mouwad and will retail for $30-$150. It’s expected to hit stores near you in November!
Nicole is modeling House of Harlow for the October issue of In Style. TV Guide was on hand for the shoot and put together the video belo for us. I’m excited to see this issue, it looks like the shoot is going to be great!
I think the line looks very Nicole. I love it. Would you wear it?
Nicole Richie’s New Jewelry Line
October 4, 2008 by Erin Balser
Nicole Richie has been hard at work on a line of costume jewelry, according to the National Jeweler Network. The 30-piece collection will be called House of Harlow, after Nicole’s daughter. It will feature fabrics, feather and gold-plated materials and should be in stores as early as this fall.
The line will retail between $50-$150 dollars. Nicole is collaborating with jeweler Mouwad on the creative line.
“It’s different in that it targets Nicole’s fans, a younger audience,” Mouwad owner Pascal Mouwad says. “[Nicole is] really a fashion icon herself. Whatever she wears, people like to wear. Her wearing it and promoting it will attract her fan base.”
I’m really excited to see what Nicole and company has in store for this jewelry line. It sounds really interesting and I bet a lot of Nicole’s personal style will come through.
Get Nicole Richie’s Hairstyle!
September 15, 2007 by Erin Balser
Thanks to Lipstick, Powder and Paint, you too can get Nicole Richie’s casual and cute hairstyle from the Max Azria fashion show during NYC Fashion Week.
They explain:
This look is easy to achieve and is fabulous for day or evening. [Patrick] Melville added a lot more texture using a one-and-a-half pipe curling iron, created a high ponytail and pinned it up at the crown to give it height, teased the back to make it look irregular and finish the look with L’Oreal Elnett. To create the texture, he used Kiehl’s Silk Groom and a Mason Pearson brush.
I loved this hairstyle.
Dress Like Nicole Richie Eco-Style
July 23, 2007 by Erin Balser
I love the environment. And celebrity gossip. (You can tell because the non-celeb b5media blog I write is an eco-fashion blog!) So imagine my excitement when Ecorazzi did a piece on how to dress like Nicole Richie in eco-friendly fashion!

Ecorazzi writes:
Check out this high-waisted wide-leg organic cotton pair from Del Forte, available at sodafine.com for $190. A green alternative to Nicole Richie’s cap-sleeved brown top can be found on sale at BTC Elements for just $39 (by Ecoganik). NYC’s Moo Shoes creates wearable, stylish vegan footwear, and these adorable flat sandals perfectly complete Nicole’s hippie-chic look. The Simple Life star may prefer Chloe, but Chinese Laundry’s cruelty-free Doorknocker satchel is an ideal (and much cheaper!) substitute for those who prefer a conscientious carry-all (alternativeoutfitters.com).
I am loving it! This post was written for them by the folks over at Frugal Fashionista! You can head over there to check out tons of other Nicole Richie knock-offs!

Nicole Knows Best! (When it Comes to Fashion Trends!)
May 12, 2007 by Erin Balser
Rogue’s Lifestyle posted a “how-to” tutorial for wearing headbands and gives major props to Nicole. They say that “scarves are also being used as headbands, a trend popularized by Nicole Richie, as well as a strip of hair platted and pinned across retro style.”

And why wouldn’t they use Nicole as an example? She looks super fab in this photo!
