Joel Madden Raises Hope for the Congo
Recently, Joel Madden been getting very active in social causes. He’s planning a trip to Africa with UNICEF soon and recently has been working hard to raise Hope for the Congo.
On the Richie-Madden blog, Joel writes:
In a few weeks, I’m traveling to the Central African Republic with UNICEF to learn about how conflict is affecting children in the region. When I get back, I’m going to do what I can to advocate, educate and raise funds in support of children affected by conflict. I’m also going to set up meetings with my Representative and Senators and urge them to support the International Violence Against Women Act, and to prioritize ending the conflict in eastern Congo. I’m also going to try to get as many people as possible to sign the petition to the president through MySpace and our website. The internet connects millions of people around the world…just imagine what we can do if we all join together to demand an end to the violence in the Congo!
You can read his whole post here. He encourages you to get involved and become aware. He wants you to know about RAISE Hope for Congo, a program designed to protect and empower women in the Congo.
I think it’s awesome that Joel is getting so involved in women’s and children’s issues. I hope his trip is a great success!

I love how Joel and Nicole have changed each other. Joels always been a good guy, but now he’s really doing something good. And Nicole, you can’t even list the amazing changes.
And another thing- did you change where you got your pictures? I just wanted to know because now my firewall is blocking them and I wanted to know if it’s my computer freaking out again…

DCMA Queen,
I get them from PicApp and I’ve been using them since about January. But they might have changed the code, which is freaking out your computer.
That sucks that your firewall is blocking them. I’ll see if there’s anything I/PicApp/you can do to fix them.

That’s okay Erin, it probably is just my firewall- I’m on school computers and they probably just adjusted the firewall.
