Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Fight Over NYC

There have been rumors that Joel Madden and Nicole Richie are considering relocating from Los Angeles to New York City. During a recent trip to NYC, they were even spotted apartment hunting.

So, of course, there are now rumors that this possible relocation is causing a rift in their relationship.

According to Star, Joel is really putting the pressure on to move to NYC, but Nicole wants to stay out in LA.

“Nicole hates New York-always has and always will,” a source tells the magazine. “She’s a big L.A girl. She loves the sun, driving and her family. She wouldn’t get that in New York, where the winter is long, stars have to use drivers to get around, and she has no relatives.”

However, Joel supposedly feels quite differently.

“It’s always been his dream to have a loft in New York City,” claims the source.

NYC would be closer to Joel’s family, but much farther from Nicole’s. According to the source, this rift is causing Nicole to rethink their relationship:

“This has been a major wake-up call for her. She’s five months pregnant and just learning about this other side of Joel-he’s extremely stubborn when it comes to what he truly cares about,’ dishes the snitch.

“As he continues the search for his perfect home, Nicole has made it very clear that if he buys something, she’ll stay in a hotel and won’t spend time there…..It’s causing major tension, there’s definitely trouble in paradise!”

I’m sure their relationship isn’t perfect, but I’m sure they will work it out. Several celebrities have homes on both coasts.
