Nicole Richie Protects New Image

by Erin on June 6th, 2008

The New York Daily News is reporting that when Nicole Richie and Mary-Kate Olsen were hanging out at the Crown Bar in LA earlier this week, they got a little down and dirty, dancing on tables and what-not.

The witness to the event said the girls weren’t drtunk at all, just catching up in the back booth and having a great girls night out. However, when the fan tried to snap a picture, Nicole immediately walked over, took the camera and deleted the photos.

I rally don’t blame Nicole for doing this. Can you imagine the headlines if those photos hit gossip magazines? Even if she was sober and having a clean, fun time (which i totally believe!), you know it would be painted in the worst light possible.

That being said, did Nicole have the right to take the camera away?

Edit: On this same subject, TMZ has a video of Nicole enjoying herself at an N.E.R.D concert earlier this week.

See if for yourself here.

5 opinions for Nicole Richie Protects New Image

Oh yes, i think she completely had the right to take away the camera and delete the photos.
After all, they were of her, and if she decides that she does not want a certain person taking pictures of her then she has complete right to not let them be printed or published.
if she was dancing on tables and having some fun then all i can say is good for her, she year so far has been very bumpy, especially with Harlow and what-not, so i completely believe that she should still be aloud to go out and have some girly fun and forget about the world.
Good for you and rock on, Nicole Richie!

If in fact this story IS true, here’s my opinion on the matter. So long the pictures are not of anyone other than her, it is absolutely acceptable for her to delete the pictures. I doubt she snatched the camera out of the fan’s hands or broke it. If those pictures were to be on the camera, the fan could easily sell them and get an incredibly twisted and incorrect story out. She was in fact protecting her image before the tabloids started calling her a “bad mother” for “partying”. Therefore, I think what she did was okay.

I do think that you should ask before you take a camera out of someone’s hands, and I don’t think that you should just take the camera and start deleting pictures, regardless of whether they are of you or not. So actually, my opinion is kinda backwards on the matter. Who knows.

Lol. yeah i guess i feel like that to. although i agree with briget, but it is very NICOLE to just take, i have to say…or to put it better, very OLD NICOLE.
I cant see her doing somthing that would really upset a fan, because i dont think she is like that at alll!

@Bridget I totally agree, there’s nothing wrong with it as long as she’s respectful about the matter. snatching the camera and demanding the photos be deleted is wrong, but there’s nothing wrong with politely asking to delete the photos.

I’m sure the gossip sites want to turn this story as negative as possible, so who knows what really happened.
