Nicole Richie to Guest Star on Gossip Girl?

The internet was a flutter today when the NY Daily News reported that Nicole Richie was in talks to guest star on the delicious teen drama Gossip Girl.
“Nicole loves ‘Gossip Girl,’ and she wants a really bitchy, juicy role,” a “friend” told the paper.
However, this so-called friend may have spoken too quickly. Nicole’s rep denied the rumor, telling E! Online “this isn’t true information.”
Other sources close to the show also denied this rumor when E! called and asked for a comment.
However, the CW didn’t return calls and the producer of Gossip Girl, Josh Schwartz, is the one and the same producer who was impressed with Nicole’s appearance on Chuck.
While it’s a long shot, I think it’s too early to speculate. I’d love to see Nicole on GG, but she’s a bit too old to be playing a high school student. Maybe she could play someone’s older sister or a twentysomething socialite Serena pals around with?
