Thanks to NicoleRichie.org, I learned that Harlow Madden is nominated for a Teen Choice Award 2009. She’s up for “Favorite Celebrity Baby.”

The competition is maxed out with cuteness, as she’s up against Jessica Alba’s daughter Honor Marie, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s son Zuma, and Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s daughter Seraphina. As cute as the other kids are, I think Harlow’s got this in the bag!

To vote for Harlow, head over to the website. To be eligible to vote, you must be between the ages of 13-19. You’re allowed to vote everyday up until the awards, which will air on Monday, August 10 on Fox at 8pm EST and will be hosted by the Jonas Brothers.

Nicole Richie has donated some of her daughter Harlow’s old baby things to HandMeDowns.com for a charity auction. The proceeds of the sales will go to The Richie Madden Children’s Foundation.

There are only 9 days left in Nicole’s auction. Most of the items are starting at $1.00, which is a pretty great deal!

HandMeDowns is a Craigslist-type site that allows people to pass on their second-hand clothing and other products to other moms with small children. I think this is a great idea, as babies grow so fast! Their clothes are often too small before they get worn out.

“When I heard about this auction, I thought about how fortunate I am to be able to give Harlow so many things, from basic essentials to clothes,” Nicole wrote on the Richie Madden Children’s Foundation MySpace. “I have seen first-hand how many children lack the most basic items. I was so happy to clean out her closet and donate some of her hand-me-downs to this auction.

She’s giving away everything from old clothes to a signed stroller! She also encourages us to donate some of our old items to the charity auction as well, as every little bit helps.

Nicole Richie isn’t getting diamonds for Christmas from boyfriend Joel Madden-and that’s the way she likes it.

“I have no clue right now what I’m getting her, but I think it’s going to have to be creative,” Joel said to E Online. “She appreciates more of the creative rather than something like a diamond. She’s not really into diamonds.”

Joel is looking forward to a low-key holiday. It’s Harlow’s first Christmas and he wants to put the family first and enjoy every minute of it. As for Harlow’s presents, Joel isn’t sure what he’s going to get her, but he has a few ideas.

“Nicole is very organic, so probably a lot of organic toys like wooden blocks,” Joel suggested. Joel also chats to E! about his family’s New Year’s plans and the new DCMA shoe line.

“The celebrities did pretty well this year in baby naming,” says BabyNames.com founder and CEO Jennifer Moss in a press release. “Harlow Winter Kate is a glamorous name, without being too unusual.”

I think Nicole and Joel were on the money with this naming pick. I’m glad the baby name community agrees!

Yahoo released the stats on the most searched celebrity babies of 2008 and Harlow Madden came in at #5. What makes this more interesting is that her parents Nicole Richie and Joel Madden didn’t crack the top 10 of most-searched celebrity parents.

The kids who were more searched than Harlow were Jennifer Lopez’s twins, Halle Berry’s daughter, Jaime-Lynn Spear’s daughter and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s twins.

I wonder if this looks the same on other search engines!

Joel Madden recently spoke with OK Magazine about the joys of fatherhood and being in love. He’s recently written lyrics about Nicole Richie and their daughter Harlow and Joel says he just can’t help it.

“Obviously, when you’re in love, you write songs about it,” he told OK at Good Charlotte’s CD release party this weekend. “It’s inspired some songs. It’s definitely something that I write about.”

He added that Harlow is doing really great. His entire life has changed because of her, but he’s never been happier. “My whole life is centered around her,” he said of Harlow.

It sounds like Joel is such a proud dad and such an involved family man. I’m so impressed by his passion and dedication to his daughter!

Good Charlotte has a new album full of remixes coming out next month. One of the songs “Los Angeles Worldwide” is a remix of their original song, “Waldorf Worldwide” and the new lyrics mention Nicole Richie and daughter Harlow! I think this is super-sweet.
