Nicole Richie Talks House of Harlow Expansion
June 29, 2009 by Arieanna
Nicole Richie is gearing up to expand her very successful House of Harlow 1960 line of accessories to include clothes and shoes. Nicole Richie herself confirmed the expansion into shoes in April, more information about the expanding line has been coming out.
Nicole recently shared with Singer22 that her new collection will be a “totally different line”.
“Doing a clothing line is really a full time job. I wanted to do what was closest to my heart and where my head was at was jewelry and accessories. I wear a ton of jewelry and artistically that was where I was feeling like I had a really clear idea of the designs that I wanted to do. That’s just where we started. Then I met up with Pascal and he is such a genius! It just felt like the perfect time and the perfect fit.”
Nicole shares that her initial accessories line was inspired by her own personal vintage collection, a lot of which she’d picked up while traveling: much was inspired by India and Africa. Nicole shares that she’s still in the middle of the design process for the shoe and clothing collection, aiming to pick the right fabrics.
As for accessories, we can expect something different from Nicole!
The second collection of House of Harlow will be out next year as well. I’m in the design process for that also. It’s a completely different direction and a completely different inspiration. It is focusing more on old English, equestrian, and more sophisticated looks. It is going to be a totally different line and I’m really excited about it!
The line is expected to be ready for Spring 2010.

Rumor: Nicole Richie & Mischa Barton Headband War
November 26, 2008 by Erin Balser
Star Magazine is reporting that Nicole Richie and Mischa Barton are feuding-over headbands.
You see, both girls planned on incorporating headbands into their jewelry and fashion lines, but Nicole beat Mischa to the punch when she launched House of Harlow 1960. Because their headband designs were so similar, Mischa’s line was put on hold.
“Mischa is furious,” a source tells Star Magazine. “She feels like Nicole completely copied her idea.”
I think this is ridiculous. I also think that while Mischa and Nicole have great fashion sense, it’s a very similar taste and neither girl is a trained designer. What do you think?

Nicole Richie to Design Maternity Wear
March 17, 2008 by Erin Balser
Hollyscoop is reporting that Nicole Richie will soon start designing her own line of maternity wear!
Considering how great she looked throughout her pregnancy, this sounds like a great idea!
Nicole isn’t going at this alone, however, She’s been meeting with experienced designers to talk about the vision for the collection. According to Hollyscoop, she wants a line that is “clean and simple, with emphasis on clothes that flatter the figure without drawing attention to the fact that the woman is pregnant.”
Sounds exactly like what Nic did for nine months!

Nicole Richie Dressed in Black
November 8, 2007 by Erin Balser
Nicole Richie was spotted shopping in Los Angeles yesterday. She had lunch by herself at a snazzy vegan restaurant.
She looks super chic all in black. I love the red Chanel bag and how it adds color to her look.

Rachel Zoe Opens Up About Nicole Richie
October 6, 2007 by Erin Balser
Rachel Zoe, Nicole Richie’s former stylist wrote a book: Style from A to Zoe: the Art of Fashion, Beauty, & Everything Glamour.
In promoting this book,. she gave an interview to YOU Magazine wherein she opened up about her friendship and eventual fall-out with Nicole.
“That whole episode was devastating on another level entirely,” says Rachel softly.
“There was a point around November last year when I didn’t leave the house much at all, except to work, and there were tears on my part, too. I compare it to the feeling you get when your parents say, ‘We’re so disappointed in you,’ and you turn into a six-year-old on the spot because you feel so small.”
Did the comments hurt more because Richie and Rachel had been like sisters?
“Yes, we were,” she says.
“It takes a lot to shock me, but that did. I wish nothing but the best for Nicole, and I’m happy for her pregnancy, but no, I haven’t called her to congratulate her. I’m over that whole thing now.”
“Has it changed me?
“I’ve learnt not to trust people as much and realise that in the past I may have been naive. I do put my heart into things and that leaves you open to hurt, so now I’m going through life with my guard slightly up, which I didn’t do before. It’s sad, but it’s a reality.”

Get Nicole Richie’s Hairstyle!
September 15, 2007 by Erin Balser
Thanks to Lipstick, Powder and Paint, you too can get Nicole Richie’s casual and cute hairstyle from the Max Azria fashion show during NYC Fashion Week.
They explain:
This look is easy to achieve and is fabulous for day or evening. [Patrick] Melville added a lot more texture using a one-and-a-half pipe curling iron, created a high ponytail and pinned it up at the crown to give it height, teased the back to make it look irregular and finish the look with L’Oreal Elnett. To create the texture, he used Kiehl’s Silk Groom and a Mason Pearson brush.
I loved this hairstyle.
