A few weeks ago, rumors were flying that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were expecting twins. Those rumors have shifted gears a bit, and now everyone thinks the couple is expecting a brother for their daughter Harlow.

“Joel bought water-based paint for the nursery and - surprise, surprise - it’s blue,” a source told In Touch Weekly.

That’s not all - the same source claims that Nicole just ordered some toys and baby items from FAO Schwarz. Her color of choice? Blue!

I’m not taking any of these boy/twins/girl rumors seriously until either Nicole herself tells us what they’re having or the baby is born. However, until then, it’s pretty fun to guess!

According to the National Enquirer, Joel Madden is very upset over the recent reconciliation of Nicole Richie and her stylist-turned-enemy Rachel Zoe. As we know, Nicole was one of Zoe’s most prolific clients a few years ago, as they pioneered the boho chic look much of young Hollywood came to adopt in recent years. They suddenly harsh fall out that resulted in both women sharing sharp words about each other in the press.

Joel is worried that having Rachel back in Nicole’s life will rekindle all the bad habits Nicole had when she was working with her. It was shortly after leaving Rachel that Nicole began to turn her life around.

“He associates that nightmare period of Nicole’s life — the pills and the dieting — with Rachel. He is convinced that she corrupted Nicole,” a source tells the tabloid. “Joel doesn’t think it’s a coincidence that as soon as Nicole erased Rachel from her life, she got healthy and gained 20 pounds. Now with Rachel back in the picture, he’s scared of Nicole relapsing.”

Apparently, it’s gotten so bad that Nicole and Joel fight over this issue frequently and Joel has even given Nicole and ultimatum - dump Rachel or he leaves.

I think the Enquirer is completely blowing this issue out of proportion. I highly doubt Nicole and Rachel have become the bffs they once were. Rather, they travel in the same circles and tend the same events, so it was best to put the past behind them and put on a good face. It’s better for them and for the press surrounding them if they make nice.

Nicole Richie has kicked boyfriend Joel Madden out - out of his office, that is! In order to make room for baby number two, the couple is converting Joel’s home office into a nursery!

Joel will have to make-do with the kitchen table for now. According to OK magazine, Nicole is redoing the office in “pink and frills.”

“She’s told him he either has to move to the garage or put his laptop in the kitchen!” the source claims.

I know the tabloid sources aren’t the most reliable, but this does seem like a logical thing for parents-to-be to have to do. My only question is pink?! Does this mean the couple is expecting another girl? Or will this new room be for the girly girl Harlow?

Joel doesn’t mind making the move, though. The source says he’s thrilled by the addition to his family.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are gearing up for their Funny or Die premiere. The couple is starring in a video with High School Musical stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, and Queen Latifah, Lance Bass, Carmen Electra, Brody Jenner and Nicole Sullivan.

The segment is rumored to be related to Zac’s upcoming movie, 17 Again. Very little is known about the clip, but E! Online is reporting that Sullivan plays a “white trash girl” and Queen Latifah drives a Rolls Royce in it.

Nicole twittered about the filming, writing “Just shot FunnyOrDie with Zac Efron. Me and VHud are besties.”

Hopefully the video will premiere on Funny or Die soon. I’m excited to see what it’s all about!

Everyone was asking Nicole Richie about the twin rumors that popped up earlier this week at the Richie Madden Children’s Foundation fundraiser. Nicole didn’t outright deny them, she simply laughed at them.

Nicole was walking the red carpet with Joel and his own twin Benji. When OK! Magazine asked Nicole about the twins, she grabbed the two men and pulled them close.

“I have twins!” she said laughing. “People popped out of me yesterday.”

I think Nicole is too coy and too clever to outright deny these rumors. Keeping media attention on her and her pregnancy will only do positive things for her career. However, I still think it’s highly, highly unlikely Nicole is having twins.

Rumors were flying this week that Nicole Richie was shopping a family-oriented reality show that would follow her life as a busy mother and girlfriend to rock star Joel Madden.

The rumors even went so far to claim that Benji Madden and Lionel Richie had signed on to do regular guest appearances!

These reports seemed very unlike Nicole and Joel, as both of them in the past talked about how stupid and invasive they thought celebrity reality programming was. In the end, these rumors were proven to be false.

OK Magazine called Nicole’s rep and asked for a quote about the rumors.

The rep scoffed at them, calling them “unsubstantiated. This is false reporting.”

Frankly, I’m glad these rumors proved to be false. Nicole and Joel have so many projects on the go now and are photographed so often, they don’t really need the exposure of a reality-show on some D-list cable channel.

And it really wouldn’t be fair to put Harlow through that, especially when she’s too young to understand what’s going on.

In Touch Weekly is reporting that new mom Ashlee Simpson has a new friend she can count on to help her through these first few months - fellow mom Nicole Richie.

The two have quickly bonded over the past year, as they have a lot in common. Nicole often gave Ashlee support and advice throughout her pregnancy, and now that Bronx Mowgli is born, that isn’t changing.

“She’s been there for Ashlee since Day One,” their source claims. “Nicole basically told her to call any time day or night, if she needs some moral support or help.”

Ashlee supposedly called Nicole when she couldn’t get Bronx to sleep last month and has turned to her for several other things since.

While I think the tabloids have the tendency to exaggerate everything - the good and the bad - it makes sense that Ashlee and Nicole would grow close during this time of extreme change.

Both are new moms in young Hollywood, whose partners are in popular bands. Regardless, I’m just glad both Ashlee and Nicole have friends they can turn to for support!

OK Magazine is reporting that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are seriously thinking about adopting a younger brother or sister for Harlow.

The story, which you can read here, is a bunch of quotes pulled together to make a haphazard story. In the past Nicole has sad she wants five children. She’s also open to adoption because she herself was adopted. Nicole and Joel have also been doing tons of work for underprivileged children in both Los Angeles and Africa, and it only makes sense they would want to open up their home to a child.

“I’m definitely not against adopting,” Joel told OK! last week at the K-DCMA launch.

I think we will see Nicole and Joel adopt in the future. But right now, both are really busy with their careers and raising Harlow. When the time is right, I’m sure they’ll make a choice about growing (or not) their family that’s right for them.

Yesterday, X17 Online reported that Nicole Richie was looking mighty suspicious cake shopping in a back booth of the Chateau Marmont last week. The cake, however, is not for Nicole’s rumored wedding. Instead, it’s for Harlow’ first birthday.

Why are they planning Harlow’s birthday so early? Nicole is appearing on an episode of the new show The Party People, which stars Tre Anderson, a party planner for the stars.

According to X17, Tre is also filming an episode with Whitney Port from The Hills.

I would so watch this show. I feel it would be an even bigger, better version of My Super Sweet Sixteen. I couldn’t find any other information about this show, but I’ll keep my eyes peeled! I’d love to see the episode about Harlow’s birthday!

According to the Daily Star, Paris Hilton is worried about her floundering music career. She’s even gone so far to ask Nicole Richie to ask friend Samantha Ronson to ask her brother Mark Ronson for help.

Mark is a fabulous DJ and music producer and Paris is convinced he is what she needs to get her music career back on track.

This seems like a long line of favors and the Daily Star had very little information on it. While Mark is probably a good person to turn to, wouldn’t it be better to go through legitimate musical chains than getting a friend to ask a friend? But then, I don’t know how the music business works.
