Below is a brief video of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden gearing up to take their daughter Harlow to a play date with a friend. It’s great Nicole and Joel are friends with other parents of young children - it means Harlow will have lots of friends and opportunities to socialize as she gets older.

I must admit, though, that the giant SUV-like jeep bothers me. Nicole is currently involved in efforts to make Los Angeles schools more environmentally friendly. Nicole also tries very hard to make sure Harlow eats organically and that their home is as green as possible. Hopefully changing their means of transportation is next.

Nicole Richie and daughter Harlow enjoyed a quiet afternoon together while dad Joel Madden was away. The twosome ran a few errands and visited a friend before heading home.

Harlow looked adorable in an all purple get-up. Nicole’s growing belly is really limiting her clothing options, she’s been wearing that same white tank a lot lately!

I, too, want to know what the sex of Nicole and Joel’s new baby is going to be! I also want to know what they are going to name it. I don’t blame them for not telling the paparazzi though. It’s something they can reveal when and where and how they want to.

Nicole Richie spent most of her day in Toronto talking to the Canadian media. She did a cute video interview with Canada AM anchor Beverly Thompson, which you can view here. They talked about the reason Nicole was in Toronto - to launch her jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960.

Nicole also sat down with the Toronto Star where she talked about how proud she is of this jewelry collection.

“This is the first thing I’ve done that’s been all me,” she said. “Everything else I’ve done has been in television. This is my design, my creation, my vision. ”

Nicole was also very cute about what special project baby number 2 will have named after them. Nicole coyly told the reporter who asked to “wait and see”. I wonder if this means they have a name picked out already!

Nicole also chatted with the Globe and Mail and said many of the same things as she did in previous interviews. I wonder if these interviews were not exclusive and instead done together as she showed them the line?

Over 400 people came out to the private party, which was held on the third floor of the Holt Renfrew in downtown Toronto. Nicole signed autographs for every person who purchased a piece of her jewelry.

Despite being busy all day, Nicole managed to squeeze in some time on twitter, posting this cute pic with one of her interviewers.

Nicole’s already out of Toronto and flew into Montreal this morning.

Nicole Richie posted an important video on her website yesterday and encouraged all her friends and fans to watch it. The video talks about the Congo rape crisis and tells you about different ways you can help.

Nicole was shocked and appaled to learn about the atrocious conditions women are expected to endure there. She even says it’s “the worst stuff that I’ve ever heard in my life.”

She talks quite a bit about Raise Hope for the Congo, the charity dedicated to improving the lives of women living in the Congo. It’s currently a favorite charity of Nicole and Joel.

Nicole outlines four different ways you can help:

1) Join the movement at Raise Hope for the Congo

2. Text “CONGOPLEDGE” (one word, no spaces) to ACTION (228466) or endorse the Conflict Minerals Pledge.

3. Send emails to the industry leaders and ask them to be a leader on this issue by signing the pledge. Visit to send your emails now.

4. Call the White House switchboard at 202.456.1414 or write to President Obama and ask him to appoint a special envoy for the Great Lakes region.

Yesterday afternoon, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were spotted heading into a friend’s birthday party that after noon.

Earlier in the day, they were seen at American Girl Place at the Grove. Could it be they were picking up a last minute gift for their pal?

Nicole looked adorable in a casual black tank and messy updo. Her bump is getting bigger everyday.

Nicole Richie spent the Tuesday, April 7th, afternoon at the Byron & Tracey salon with her friends Andy, Hayden and Sophia. She posted this picture of the three of them on Twitter.

When Nicole left the salon, she was swarmed by paparazzi. She looked cute in a green and black sweater, sunglasses and cut-off shorts.

Nicole’s hair was in a messy updo when she left. I wonder what she was getting done there.

Here’s the Funny or Die video that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden filmed last week. The premise is that Zac Efron is hosting a celebrity-infused pool party and his white trash Uncle Hank comes by and just cannot be cool. The video also features Carmen Electra, Justin Long, Zac’s girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, Queen Latifah, Lance Bass, Brittany Snow, Jessica Stroup, Chelsea Staub, Jessica Rose, Ruta Gedmintas, Abby Pivaronas, Brody Jenner and Nicole Sullivan.

“It’s hysterical!” Nicole writes on her blog. “They were able to get some really great cameos… Vanessa Hudgens, Queen Latifah, and since Kate Winslet was busy, they called me ;).”

Nicole had a lot of fun filming the video and meeting Zac Efron. She had high praise for the High School Musical star.

“I had a fun time,” she writes. “It was my first time meeting Zac and he is every bit the gentlemen, far beyond his years.”

Nicole and Joel have their own scene in the clip. Joel is about to ask Nicole something very special when obnoxious Uncle Hank shows up.

I honestly didn’t find it all that funny, but I’m not one for crude humor. I think Nicole and Joel’s scene was cute though!

Nicole Richie debuted her growing baby bump at the grand opening party for Los Angeles’ newest vintage store, What Goes Around Comes Around. Nicole played hostess for the evening and Joel Madden’s older brother, Josh, played DJ. The event was held at Space 15 Twenty on March 18th.

What Goes Around Comes Around is hoping to become a go-to stop for high-end vintage, including designer duds like YSL, Christian Dior and more.

Nicole looked great in skinny jeans and a gold coat that perfect showed off her belly.

Uncle Josh took a minute from spinning tunes to talk to E! Online about being an uncle. “I think being an uncle for anyone is always good,” he said.

Josh and Nicole appeared to enjoy the bonding time, laughing and joking throughout the night. Benji and Joel couldn’t make the event, as the are in New York.

Nicole Richie went for a unique cross between city slick and boho chic with this grpahic print dress, leggings, and leather jacket look. Her makeup was minimal and her hair was simple, soft and flowy.

Several celebrities, including Nicole Richie and Joel Madden got together to create this video where they pledge their service to President Barack Obama (the inauguration is tomorrow!!!) and the United States of America. Celebrities like Cameron Diaz, Hayden Panetierre, Laura Linney, Dakota Fanning, Jaime Pressley, Ashlee Simpson, Ashton Kutcher, Tobey Maguire, Diddy, Alyssa Milano, Marisa Tomei, Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette pledge to do things small and little to make the USA–and the world–a better place to live.

Nicole and Joel make only brief appearances, but it’s a pretty inspiring video! Make sure you watch the whole thing!

The video, which was directed and edited by Demi Moore, is meant to inspire Americans to turn Barack Obama’s message of change into reality. Everyone can play a part, whether it be big or small, which is why these celebs pledge to do a variety of things that are important to them. It may be the environment, their family, the elderly or children, over 50 celebs participated in the making of the video. I think this sends a really powerful and positive message to everyone, not just Americans. Kudos to Demi for putting it together.

Barack Obama will be inaugurated tomorrow in what is being called the most important presidential nomination since George Washington’s. I’m really excited and hope that his messages of change and hope carry on into his presidency.
