UK’s The Daily Star is reporting that Nicole Richie’s doctors have told her to quit breast-feeding six-month-old Harlow because they fear Nicole is losing too much weight and it’s affecting her health.

Losing tons of weight while breast-feeding is completely common, especially when someone has a naturally small frame, like Nicole. While I don’t necessarily believe this rumor, it’s great to see that Nicole is taking care of herself and going to the doctor regularly. She needs to be strong and healthy to run after Harlow. I can’t believe Harlow is six months old already!

Gossip sites are reporting that one of the reasons Nicole Richie has gone organic and eco-friendly with all their food and baby products since the birth of Harlow.

“Nicole double washes her daughter Harlow’s clothes and double sanitises her bottles, baby spoons - anything Harlow eats out of,” a source tells the National Enquirer. “Even the cleaning supplies in the house have to be organic and non-toxic.”

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with caring about the well-being of your child, but they are claiming that Nicole has been taking it to extreme levels and that Joel is even starting to worry about her.

“Joel has always worried about germs, but Joel feels she has taken it too far,” the source adds. “Joel wants Harlow to grow up healthy, but he thinks all this double-sterilising is weird.”

Double-sterlizing is pretty strange and if you keep your baby too protected from the elements, it could hurt them in the end. However, this report comes from the National Enquirer, so I don’t believe it. It must have beena really slow news day if they felt the need to comment on Nicole’s ability to act like a regular mom.

TMZ obtained a copy of Harlow Madden’s birth certificate. Her legal first name is “Harlow Winter”, and her legal last name is “Richie Madden.”

I wonder why all the birth announcements left off Richie when announcing the name of the baby. Was Harlow Winter Kate Richie Madden just too long?

The birth certificate also has Nicole’s middle name spelled incorrectly–Camile instead of Camille.

On May 6, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden went shopping for Harlow. They went into the store through the back, but the paparazzi caught them anyway. It looks like they got a ton of stuff!

Today, Nicole Richie, Joel Madden and daughter Harlow were spotted at LAX. Nicole and Harlow are joining Joel and Good Charlotte on tour!

Nicole looked really tired as she went through airport security and kept Harlow closely guarded and wrapped in a big, white blanket. It’s nice the familyis reuniting. I bet it felt long and lonely for Joel to be away from his daughter.

Last night, when the entire Richie clan was on hand to see Lionel Richie receive a lifetime achievement award at the Pop Music Awards, Nicole’s mom Brenda mentioned the first time that his granddaughter Harlow Madden “talked.”

“The other day I was holding her, and Harlow said, ‘Hi!’ I said, ‘Nicole, did you hear that?’ Nicole said, ‘I don’t think she knew what she was saying!’” Brenda said to Hollyscoop.

As for Nicole, Brenda says she’s been a hands-on mom.

“I’m lucky if I get to [see] the baby. She loves being with that baby! [Harlow’s] bathing time has to be right on schedule! I was strict with Nicole, and she fought all of it,” she said. “Now here is she is, being the same way I was [with her] — it’s great to see!”

It’s really great to hear how involved Nicole is! And if you look at the pictures of the event, Nicole looks gorgeous, but so tired!

The Richies–Lionel, Sofia and Nicole–were all on hand as Lionel received the ASCAP Lifetime Achievement Award last night at the pop music awards. However, the girl Lionel couldn’t stop gushing about was the one not there–granddaughter Harlow.

“He actually babysat the other day – him and Joel- and they were amazing,” Nicole said to People. “I mean, she slept the whole time.”

As great as Lionel was as granddad, it didn’t come naturally!

“It’s when the baby wakes up that I freak out!” he said.

Even though he’s taken to the role of grandfather, it’s not what they’ve been calling Lionel.

“I went to Nicole and said, ‘Grandpa,’ how does that sound? Does that fit me?’ She said, ‘Dad, that sounds old.’ So I kind of searched out … G-Pa sounds a lot better,” Lionel said.

Lionel also had praise for Nicole. “She went from, ‘Dad, I don’t care. Whatever you say.’ To ‘Wash your hands, Dad’ and ‘Be quiet Dad.’ It’s a whole new sound of the house.”

Paris Hilton told People that Nicole Richie is happy, in love and excited for her upcoming mommy hood!

“She’s really happy,” Paris said at the Helio Ocean launch party on Wednesday. “I just got off the phone with her. She’s so excited.”

“I know she’s going to be the best mom ever.”

Paris also sang praises of Nicole’s relationship with Joel Madden.

“They’re really in love,” Paris told People.

It seems like Paris is happy and excited for her best friend!

Star magazine is getting desperate! Their latest issue is reporting that Nicole Richie had a miscarriage scare.

Star writes:

It’s every expectant mother’s worst nightmare — the telltale bleeding that could signal a tragic miscarriage. And when four-months pregnant Nicole Richie suddenly began spotting, she was beyond frightened, say sources!

Nicole was immediately rushed to L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the sources say, gripped by the fear that she could lose her baby and lose the baby’s father, Joel Madden, too!

Nicole has a litany of troubling medical issues. She’s been in rehab multiple times for addictions to heroin and pills, and she’s admitted to alcohol and cocaine abuse and eating disorders.

So when she began spotting, there was no hesitation — she was rushed directly to the hospital, the source tells Star. Nicole’s many health issues make her pregnancy “high risk,” say experts.

“She’s absolutely at a greater danger of miscarrying than most women,” says Troy Hailparn, M.D., a San Antonio ob-gyn, who has not treated the Simple Life star. “Through some miracle, she managed to get pregnant and survive the first trimester, when most women with her history would suffer a miscarriage — but she’s not out of the woods yet.”
